A good quality waiter's corkscrew is simply the best tool for opening wine bottles.

The corkscrews from the Spanish company Pulltap's are well-known and loved by waiters and bartenders. Pulltap's is based in the Spanish town of Sabadell, which is a little north of Barcelona. All corkscrews are manufactured at Pulltap's own factory in Sabadell.
In 1996, Pulltap's invented the double lever for waiter's corkscrews and this little invention, which Pulltap's has patented, is a huge improvement on the traditional waiter's corkscrew.

• One-handed foil knife. The knife is pushed out with the thumb and remains locked in this position so that the blade can be used. Once the foil has been removed, the next step in opening the bottle is to fold out the lever and when the lever is folded out, it pushes the small knife, which is automatically retracted into the corkscrew handle again. It's pretty smart and you don't have to worry about broken nails or being nervous about cutting yourself on the little knife.
• The double lever is nickel-plated twice as protection against corrosion.
• The patented double lever with two steps makes it much easier and safer to pull the cork out of the bottle. Screw the spiral all the way in, start with the first step of the lever and then use the next step. Much less force is required than if the corkscrew only had a regular lever with a single step and there is also much less risk of the cork breaking, as it is pulled vertically all the way up.
• The Teflon-coated spiral easily screws through both corks and synthetic corks. The spiral is 55 mm long and has 5 twists. The length fits even the longest corks and the many twists ensure that the spiral has a good grip on the cork.
